What is VoLTE

IMC has launched VoLTE service, bringing voice calls into a new era! VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) refers to voice call services connected through the 4G LTE network. As a valued IMC customer, starting today, you can upgrade for free, without any additional fees, and enjoy high-speed voice call connectivity services through VoLTE!

Benefits of Using VoLTE

Using VoLTE service allows for faster call connection. Previously, making a call via a 3G network could take about 7 seconds, but with both parties using VoLTE, this time can be reduced to as fast as just 1 second! Even if the other party is on a non-4G LTE network, the connection time can still be shortened to about 4 seconds.

To use VoLTE, the following conditions must be met

1. Use a VoLTE-supported mobile phone.
2. Upgrade the phone's software to the latest version (Applicable only to Android phones, please update the phone's software version to the latest according to the mobile manufacturer's setup guide).
3. Activate the VoLTE function within the phone.

Q1. Does making calls with VoLTE deduct data?

A1. Please note that when making calls with VoLTE, it will consume your plan's allotted minutes rather than your data. Therefore, it's important to ensure you have a sufficient minute balance for your needs.

Q2. If you have used up your data but still have minutes, can you use VoLTE?

A2. VoLTE is a voice service over the 4G LTE data network. If you have used up your data, your phone may switch to the 3G network, thereby using 3G voice services. We recommend that users ensure their IMC annual plan still has data available.

Q3. If unable to receive a 4G network, can VoLTE be used?

A3. To use VoLTE, a 4G signal must be received.

Q4. Can you use the internet while on a VoLTE call?

A4. While on a VoLTE call, you can still access high-speed 4G internet.

Q5. Can it support VoWiFi (WiFi call)?

A5. Support is available for using VoWiFi locally, but your phone must also support VoWiFi.
